Girl Scouts Select House to Achieve Their Silver Award

On Thursday, September 21 at 4:00 p.m., Family Residences and Essential Enterprises, Inc.  (FREE) will welcome members of Girl Scouts of Suffolk County Troop 1853 to their residence at 117 Woodlot Road, Ridge, NY as they undertake a beautification project at the house.  The Girl Scouts will achieve a Silver Award, the highest award a Girl Scout Cadette can earn.  The Girl Scouts created stepping stones, wind chimes and birdhouses for the house. They have also designed signage with the house number and painted large rocks to beautify the front of the house.

Individuals in FREE’s residential programs receive skills development in such areas as socialization, recreation, problem solving, personal development, activities of daily living, travel training, health care and medication maintenance, and many more. FREE provides residential services for individuals who are differently-abled in over 100 communities, throughout Long Island and New York City.
